When I Replace My Fuel Lines, What Should I Replace Them With?

Exposed fuel lines are made of a metal alloy impervious to the caustic nature of your fuel. When corroded, bent, or broken, these fuel lines must be replaced. When installed at the factory, exposed fuel lines are pre-bent and flared to travel along the least vulnerable route.

When a fuel line needs to be replaced, the line should be replaced with a factory pre-bent line identical to the one initially installed on the vehicle. If such pre-bent fuel lines are not available, the best option is to have your mechanic get a straight pipe and bend and flare it appropriately. Do not use a plastic replacement or one of those kinkable braided mesh steel hoses. If you wish to use a line that bends, use a nylon hose that will not kink.
